Jeff Dobson's blog

Well #2 stop is in the books and i left Texas with a finish in the top 1/2 of the field gaining some valuable points if i'm going to qualify for the Cup. I had a pretty good first day but the wheels fell off the second day and i didn't get my 5th keeper in the boat. When i got home i watched footage of both days, you can see the point when i started to freak out, fishing to fast, and running  around looking for keeper bites. This is something i need to learn how to control. One doesn't really realize he is doing that until it's to late.

As many of you know, this was a tough event for me. Without the bad events we can’t have the successful ones, Right? With that said, I will keep my head high and move on to the next one with the confidence I need to be successful. Tournament Bass Fishing is all about decisions. At Guntersville I made the wrong decision and I know that now. I will learn from it and chalk it up as a lesson learned.

Everyone...Jeff Dobson here. I just wanted to jump in here and basically tell everyone what Jeff Dobson Professional Angler is about. I'm a family man with a beautiful wife of 14 years and an extremely talented 12 year old daughter. I'm the luckiest guy in the world when it comes to family! I'm also a very dedicated Commercial Construction Superintendent. I have talents in the construction industry that I love to put to work everyday. I am extremely fortunate to work for a company that will support me fishing the FLW Tour in 2017.

This was a pretty good tournament for me.

Grand was fishing really tough this year due to colder temps through out the winter than normal. Locals were reporting huge shad kills pryor to this event. This really makes the fishing tough due to the fact that the fish have an abundant supply of food with little or no energy spent for feeding.
